Every hacker will try - and fail. Then, one day, when no one cares anymore, someone will just try some stuff out of sheer boredom - and that cracks it.

I'm looking forward to this. I hope it can deliver so that I can finally get rid of 1080° Avalanche. Besides, it's nice to see what they can do with the Assassin's Creed engine (Scymitar? That's what it's called?) if they just tweek it heavily enough.
Gimme some cool tricks, some snow effects, nail the controls and add some nice gameplay elements and I will buy this the second it comes out. Oh and a nice soundtrack would help as well.

As far as I understood it, 2nd party developers are basically 3rd party developers exclusively bound to one of the big three (Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft) by contract. Like SiliconKnights and Nintendo last generation.

EDIT: I don't really mind them taking their time. I rather see them making just one or two very good games instead of a bunch of crappy ones.
People also buy those crappy movie games. People also bought E.T., Superman 64 and ShaqFu. Sales are no sign of quality, rather than a lot hype, marketing campaigns, advertisements and brand recognition.
Doom is a widely known series. I'd bet alot of people bought it, because they liked the predecessors.
I don't mean to bash the game. I didn't find it appealing, but I'd say there are a lot games that are worse.
